Return to School Plan

As we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year, each family to tasked with the important decision of determining how school will look for your child in the fall. You should have received a survey from Dr. Brabrand asking if you would like to have your child come into the building 2 days per week, or learn online 4 days a week. This choice will be a yearlong commitment. Please note that responses are due by July 10, 2020. If  you do not respond, your choice will default to coming to school 2 days a week.

At Timber Lane we want to do everything we can to support you in making an informed decision. We encourage you to stay up to date by accessing the information on the Return to School Webpage

In addition, this Wednesday July 1st at 12:00PM I will offer a virtual Parent Coffee, where I will address some of the most commonly asked questions. In order to get to as many questions as possible in a fair and organized fashion, you are asked to submit your questions in advance using this Parent Coffee link.

Summer Enrichment Opportunity

In order to continue to learning through the summer FCPS and TLES are providing a variety of learning opportunities.

All students have access to skill practice through all digital resources used during the previous school year.  Students will need to enter their FCPS login credentials to access these resources. These digital activities will be available until Friday, July 31st

Additionally, all students currently in grades K-6 should have receive both a Mathematics and a Language Arts Essentials Summer Practice Book in the mail. Digital versions of the books will also be posted on the Continuity of Learning Blackboard page. These books will provide recommended practice activities for students to review essential content from the 2019-2020 school year; they are not intended to preview content from next year’s grade level but rather reinforce essential learning from this past year.

In addition to these resources, Timber Lane Elementary, Pine Spring Elementary and Graham Road Elementary have teamed up to provide some synchronous learning 4 days per week for 1 hour each day from July 6-31.  For families who signed up, we will be working together to provide your child  access to 2 Reading lesson and 2 Math lessons each week. If you signed up for this opportunity, your child should have received an email from their summer learning teacher in their Gmail account with details such as time, teacher and a secure link. If you need additional support please reach out to your child's summer school teacher.
