General Information

Operating Hours

Our Main Office remains closed during this time.  Once FCPS changes the operating status of schools, we will provide updated information.  In the meantime, please continue to email the appropriate personnel for questions or concerns.

Return to School Plans

Last week Dr. Brabrand announced the division plans for the 2020-2021 school year.  Soon families will receive a survey to select the learning option that they would prefer for next school year.  I know this is a challenging decision for many families to make.  To assist you in that decision I would direct you to the resources below that will best help guide the decision-making process.  These sites will be updated daily as more information becomes available.

FCPS Plan for Return to School

Report Cards

Report cards for 4th quarter will be produced centrally for all secondary schools, except for those parents and/or guardians who have opted to “Go Paperless.” Final grades will be visible in ParentVUE and StudentVUE. The Report Card PDF for all secondary students will also be generated centrally and will be available in the Documents module in ParentVUE and StudentVUE on Tuesday, June 23 at 6:00 a.m. We anticipate the printed report cards will be provided to the postal service by July 1. Actual delivery to homes will be dependent on the postal service.

Upcoming ACT and SAT Exams

FCPS will not be hosting the July 18 ACT exam. We hope to have more information soon to confirm whether or not schools will be able to host the August 29, 2020, SAT. The decision will be shared as soon as it becomes available.

AP Exam Refunds

After all AP exams have been administered, the parents, guardians, or students that are due a refund will be identified by Financial Services. Refunds will be processed in late June/July.

AP Score Information:

Students in Virginia will receive access to their AP scores on July 17 at 8 a.m. ET.  Students will access scores via their College Board account.  If students don't remember their username or password, they can recover them on the College Board website—they should NOT create a new account.  Students who are unable to reset usernames or passwords online, can call AP Services at 888-225-5427 or 212-632-1780 for assistance.

Yearbook Update

We are still awaiting the final shipment date of our 2020 yearbooks, we believe yearbooks should arrive in late July or early August.  We are looking at distribution days the week of August 3 and August 10.

Parent Resources

FCPS has compiled a list of mental health resources that you may find beneficial.  All of the resources can be accessed here at any time.  Mental health resources and emergency services information can be found here.

Mental Wellness Consultation

The FCPS Office of Intervention and Prevention Services will continue to offer mental wellness consultations throughout the summer. If you have concerns about your child’s well-being or if your child would like to speak with a school psychologist or school social worker, please request a consultation.  Our FCPS mental health providers are available to help families get needed support through a 45-minute phone consultation or through secure video conferencing. Appointments are open to all FCPS families.

Consultations are offered in two ways:

  • Directly to parents of students in any grade level. This consultation provides an opportunity for parents to receive guidance on how to support their child’s social-emotional, behavioral, or academic functioning. Information about community resources will also be made available.
  • Directly to students in middle or high school. This consultation provides support and strategies to students who may be experiencing difficulties with anxiety, mood, behavior, or peer or family interactions; as well as academic challenges such as organization, time-management, or adjusting to a new school.

We encourage parents to take advantage of this service. Click here to request a consultation. You may also leave a message at 571-423-4276.
