Summer Learning Opportunities

Workbook

Don’t forget, beginning next week (June 30th) and continuing for five weeks, Lemon Road students will have access to one virtual hour each week with one of our own outstanding Lemon Road teachers (students participate with the grade level recently completed). Students can log in to the sessions through the Lemon Road Students Blackboard page. The work with the teachers will be based on the practice books mailed centrally from FCPS. Digital versions of the books are posted on the Continuity of Learning Blackboard page if your child does not receive them or needs additional copies. Children should have the workbooks with them during their sessions with LRES staff. The Lemon Road schedule is as follows:

Kindergarten: Tuesdays 9:00 – 10:00 AM with Mrs. Taryn Roman

Grade 1: Tuesday & Thursdays 11:00 – 11:30 AM with Ms. Suzanne Child

Grade 2: Thursdays 9:00 – 10:00 AM with Ms. Hilary Nickels

Registration is Underway

Register

As decisions are being made regarding the fall, it is vital we have all kindergarteners and new students registered.  Important information will be emailed/mailed to parents of registered students and fall schedules will be determined based on the specific students in each class.  If you, a neighbor, or friend have a child to register for Lemon Road, please start here

#PositivityinAction

Positivity In Action

Lemon Road blends the values of a Responsive Classroom Approaches school with the direct character education taught through the Positivity Project. Until last week, the Positivity Project motto and hashtag was #OtherPeopleMatter. While the purpose was to teach our students to value the ideas, feelings, and perspectives of others, this caused conflict with the #BlackLivesMatter movement of which we support whole heartedly. Last week, The Positivity Project changed their motto and hashtag to not to detract from the Black Lives Matter movement.

The aim of the Positivity Project is to empower students to build positive relationships and become their best selves. With that focus, they have announced their new motto and hashtag to be #PositivityInAction.  We will promote this new motto as we continue to embed the explicitly taught character strengths of the Positivity Project as a part of our social curriculum at Lemon Road.
