SCMS Summer Newsletter - June 17th, 2020

June 17th, 2020

A Note from Principal Kownacki

Dear South County Families and Students,

Congratulations on a great school year! 2019-2020 was a year to remember. While it may not have ended the way we planned, I am so proud of the hard work of our students and staff as they finished the year strong during Distance Learning.  My hope for our entire community to enjoy the summer, read, relax and recharge. I will share updates throughout the summer on how we will return to learn in the fall. Stay tuned, as the re-opening continues to be discussed by the School Board.

Congratulations and Farewell

We wish all the best the future holds for Patty Krein (pictured below as Dr. Kreinstein), Science teacher, and Trish Portare (pictured below enjoying a boat ride), Special Education Teacher, who are both retiring from FCPS. Both Patty and Trish were charter member of South County Middle School and helped shape the culture of our school. We are grateful for their tremendous work and know they will continue to have a positive impact on our community. Congratulations Patty and Trish!
