The 2019-2020 school year was truly a year of many unexpected challenges. We want to thank all of our families for your patience, kindness, and flexibility as we shifted quickly from face-to-face learning into distance learning. We are so proud of our teachers and students for the work put in over the past three months. Special shout-out to our 6th Grade Dolphins! Congratulations on completing elementary school and we can't wait to see you thrive in middle school. We hope that everyone has a safe and fun summer. FCPS will be offering many free opportunities to continue learning this summer. Please see the various options below:
FCPS will offer free continuity of learning for K-12 students. A variety of self-directed print and online materials are available.
Mathematics and Literacy Continuity of Learning (K-8)
Dates: June 29-July 31, 2020
FCPS school buildings will remain closed through the end of July. Therefore, we will continue to provide recommended distance learning opportunities for students throughout the summer. Your students will have access to skill practice through the iReady digital lessons through the FCPS public Universal Screener website. Students will need to enter their FCPS login credentials to access these resources. These digital activities will be available until Friday, July 31st.
Additionally, students currently in grades K-6 will receive both a Mathematics and a Language Arts Essentials Summer Practice Book in the mail by the end of June. Digital versions of the books will also be posted on the Continuity of Learning Blackboard page. These books will provide recommended practice activities for students to review essential content from the 2019-2020 school year; they are not intended to preview content from next year’s grade level but rather reinforce essential learning from this past year.
As students access these activities from June 29 to July 31, they will have the opportunity to attend one virtual office hour each week with one of our own outstanding staff members. The schedule for office hours will be posted to the Lake Anne Elementary website (http://lakeannees.fcps.edu) in the coming weeks. The schedule will indicate the teacher, grade level, day of week, and time for the office hour. Office hours will be conducted through a secure link that students register to receive. Upcoming messages will provide additional information and links for office hour registration.
We look forward to the chance to provide continuity of learning.
FCPS Food and Nutrition Services will continue to provide breakfast and lunches through June 30th. Meals are available Monday-Friday, from 10am-1pm. The locations nearest to Lake Anne are :

There will be one FINAL opportunity to pick-up your student belongings or drop off any Lake Anne owned items on Monday, June 15th, from 12-1pm. Please come to the Kiss and Ride Loop (the loop on the left) and meet a Lake Anne staff member while remaining in your vehicle.
We are excited to announce that you can finally order a 2019-2020 LAES Yearbook!! The cost is $15.00 and can be ordered at www.barksdalephoto.com.

All yearbooks will be mailed to your home. New this year, an online version is also available for only $6.00. This link will be available next week. This year, all yearbook payments must be made online by credit card only.
