We will be collecting school-issued laptops from any 6th graders that will not be participating in summer distance learning. This will take place on Friday, June 12th. If your 6th grade students is participating in summer learning, we will collect those laptops in August. All families that are currently using a Lake Anne issued laptop are requested complete this survey to identify if you will return your laptop next Friday or in August. Thank you. |
If your student is not returning to Lake Anne next year (i.e. 6th grader, moving, transferring schools, etc), please return all school items on Friday, June 12th. A specific schedule will be sent out next week of when drop-off will take place. For all returning students, if you have classroom supplies, library books, patrol belts, school-owned instruments, please drop these items off on Friday, June 12th also.
We had an extremely successful student pick-up on Friday. If you were unable to pick-up your students personal items and are still interested in obtaining them, please complete this survey. We will send out information about another pick-up for those families that complete the survey. Thank you.
FCPS will offer free continuity of learning for K-12 students. A variety of self-directed print and online materials are available.
Mathematics and Literacy Continuity of Learning (K-8)
Dates: June 29-July 31, 2020
Middle school and elementary school students will have the opportunity to review concepts and skills using recommended self-directed print and digital materials. Materials will not be collected or graded.
Print materials will be mailed to families who did not opt-out of the weekly distance learning packets. Families will receive two envelopes near the end of June:
- one Language Arts Essentials Practice Book
- one Mathematics Essentials Practice Book
Digital versions of practice books will be available on FCPS 24/7 FCPS 24/7 Learning.
i-Ready
Elementary students can use i-Ready for more skills practice until Friday, July 31, 2020. Information about how to login to i-Ready is available on the Universal Screener web page.
Teachers from each school will have weekly office hours from June 29-July 31, 2020 to provide feedback and support to students in literacy and mathematics.
These offerings are free to all students.
