MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL: Bulldog Back to School BBQ

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Early in the 2019-2020 school year, we made a presentation/proposal to Westfield students, staff, and the PTSA to pilot combing the Bulldog BBQ, Back to School Night, and Freshman and New Student Orientation into an all-day event called to be held in August called the Bulldog Back to School BBQ.  A copy of the slide presented to the PTSA and faculty and staff can be seen here.

In summary we are proposing this change to:

  • Reduce the number of events parents and/or students would attend at school
  • Reduce the number of events our staff attend at the start of school
  • Provide an opportunity for more freshmen and new students to learn about and sign up for clubs and activities
  • All those with more than one student at Westfield to meet all their students’ teachers

The response from students, staff, and PTSA members present was positive. We would now like to hear from a larger segment of the community reference piloting the proposal to start the 2020-2021 school year.  If conditions do not allow us to start with proposed one day event, then we will move the event to the 2021-2022 school year.

Please complete the survey by June 22nd to make your preference known.  We will provide feedback on the overall results.

Stay healthy; Be safe; GO BULLDOGS!
