Looking Forward to Sunnier Days

We're planning to landscape Langley's main courtyard as soon as logistically possible.  Just how gorgeous and green it will be depends upon how many donations are made. To help, donate a leaf to the Langley Legacy Tree, the beautiful wall sculpture that is “growing” in the Langley Lobby.  Another 40+ leaves and several birds were added to the tree right before the school closed.

2

Leaves make wonderful graduation gifts! About 100 of our seniors/soon-to-be grads already have a leaf inscribed in their honor. Leaves are also a great way to pay tribute to teachers, family and friends. Giving levels are copper leaf ($50), silver leaf ($100), gold leaf ($200), and acorn or bird ($500). With a $1,000+ donation, your family's name is included on the Courtyard Benefactor Plaque, which will be installed next to the Tree.

Click on ptsalangley.org to donate your tree leaves/acorns/birds.

Congratulations to Junior, Lucy Chen on making "Honorable Mention" for her entry "Why we should be kinder to our custodial staff?" in the NPR Student Podcast Challenge. Students on English 11 and AP English Language classes were tasked with creating a research based podcast to submit to the NPR Student Podcast Challenge.  Lucy focused her podcast on Langley pyramid by asking us to think about those people that often go unappreciated – our custodial staff.  Of the 2,000 entries, Lucy’s podcast about the efforts of the custodial staff made the list of Honorable Mention, a Langley first.  If you know Lucy, congratulate her, and more importantly, when you see a Langley custodian OR any custodian, be sure to say THANK YOU!

Lucy’s podcast is available at this link.
