Hello Rockstars!

First of all, I miss every single one of you. This is not how I pictured our year together ending, and I know it is not the way that you all saw it ending. With the current situation I am so glad that we got to spend the time together that we did! You are the best class that I could have gotten, especially for my first year and you all will always have a special place in my heart.

This class was full of compassionate, self-less, gifted, and outgoing students. Our class visited Mrs. Rea’s class once a week to read with our buddies and bond with them. Students would also go visit the class some mornings to help the students in Mrs. Rea’s class with their letters and sight words. We also had different groups of students spend time with Ms. Smith’s friends, who still ask about our awesome friends. Many students were involved in various clubs, activities, band, chorus, strings, patrols, SCA, the list could go on forever.

While we may not be together in the classroom to finish this year I have loved seeing every single one of you online and participating in class! You are hardworking students and will go so far in life and I cannot wait to hear about all of your accomplishments. While your time here at Woodley Hills may be coming to an end, this is just the beginning for all of you. Your teachers next year will be so lucky to have you in their classrooms. Continue to work hard, persevere, and reach your full potential. The door to room 118 will always be open if you ever want to stop by!

I look forward to seeing you all when you come pick up your supplies from the school and yelling good afternoon when I see you (I have really missed yelling good morning to you all every day). Congrats on graduating 6th grade, and for not losing to the teacher’s in kickball!

~Ms. Quigley

Student Material Pick Up

June 11th   2:00 – 5:00pm

We are providing another opportunity for parents to pick up your child(ren)’s materials and medication next week.  Staff will be at Woodley Hills on June 11th from 2:00pm – 5:00pm.  This is not mandatory but please know that we will be discarding any medication that have not been picked up by 4:30pm on Friday, June 12. We ask that all students bring back any library books and school owned materials.

  • Students in grades Pre-K – 5th grades coming back to WHES may keep their instruments and laptops.
  • Students going to a different school in the August MUST return the laptop and cord, your instrument, library books and any other school owned materials.

Our plan is to complete this task using a no contact system so we are asking that the procedures below be followed.

  • Enter the bus loop near the front of the building (Entrance 1).
  • You will be directed down the bus loop and will give your child’s name (including any siblings) and the teacher’s name(s) to a staff member.  If you are picking up items for someone else, you must provide the student name and teacher name.
  • If your child has medication at the school, please let the staff member know so we can have it ready.
  • You will be asked to drive to the Kiss and Ride Door. You will open your trunk or unlock a door so the staff member can place the bag(s) into your car.
  • Books and instruments being returned should be place on the cart brought to the car.

If you have questions or concerns, please call the school 703-799-2000 or  email Ms. Aldredge at sdaldredge@fcps.edu or Ms. Toney at wetoney@fcps.edu or Ms. Johnson at tmjohnson@fcps.edu.
