A Message From the Falls Church Principals

unity

Dear Falls Church Pyramid Families,

We are writing to you as your Pyramid Principals to share our sadness and outrage about the instances of racism and hate that have occurred in our country during the last few weeks, and over the course of time. These awful events are especially painful for our Black and African American community members.  We acknowledge this and want you to know that we see you and stand with you.  Racism and hate have no place in the world and no place in the Falls Church Pyramid.  The Falls Church Pyramid is a diverse community that we are proud to lead.

As principals and school staff, we will not sit silently, as these events cannot be ignored.  Rather, in these last few days of school, we have asked our teachers to talk with students about what racism is and why it is not acceptable.  We will also work together to identify ways to continue these important conversations with our staff and students next school year. Our schools will continue to receive professional learning on equitable and culturally responsive practices.  We are committed to furthering our learning in order to challenge racism and injustice while continuing to promote inclusive school communities where diversity is valued.
