Forestville Reminders!

Retrieval of Student Items Reminder

As a reminder, on Friday, May 29th, you will be able to retrieve your child’s items from Forestville via curbside pickup during specific grade level timeframes. All student items have been packed up into a pre-labeled bag with each student’s name. There will be no access into the school during any of these pick-up times.

If driving to school, please remain in your car and at the appropriate time open your trunk/door when the items are brought to your car. School staff will be wearing masks and handling items with gloves. Please help to expedite this process by having a piece of paper with your child’s last name and teacher name written in large block letters placed in the windshield.

If you have multiple children at Forestville ES, we will be consolidating all of your children’s belongings with your oldest child. For example, if you have a 1st grader and a 4th grader, please go through the Kiss-N-Ride line from 10:30am-12:30pm and you will receive both of your children’s pre-labeled bags. See grade-level pickup locations and times below. This is a change from the previous email, as this process is being put in place to save you and our staff time.

Remember, if your child has any library books, patrol belts or is a 6th grader with a school-issued band or strings instrument at home, we ask that you return those items during this event. If there any additional school-issued items that are not needed for distance learning, those may be returned as well.

This will be the only time to pick up items. Any remaining items after May 29th, will be discarded/donated and will not be kept by the school. Additionally, if you have medication stored in the nurse’s office, please contact Ms. Arbach to set up a date and time for pick up.

Class Placement Parent Input Reminder

Our staff will soon begin working collaboratively to plan teacher and student assignments for the upcoming school year. We would like to provide you with the opportunity to share your insights about your child through our google form, Parent Input Form

As a reminder, please complete the fill-able form and submit. The information will go directly to Mr. Washington and will be shared with teachers during the placement process.

Please note:

  • All comments should be positive. These forms will be shared with school staff as we work to create class groupings.
  • Due to constant changes in personnel, we will not accept requests for specific teachers; this includes hints that reference specific teachers.
  • While it’s helpful to share names of your child’s friends, remember that assigning a child to be with all of their friends cannot be our highest priority. Classes will be constructed for instructional purposes and every class will have a blend of children with diverse needs, personalities, and learning abilities.
  • The deadline for any correspondence regarding the upcoming school year is Friday, May 29.

Our staff will use this information to work on tentative class groupings in June, with classroom assignments finalized in late August as the school year approaches. Please submit the electronic form no later than Friday, May 29. Due to the tight timeline before school is out, late submissions cannot be considered.
