Fairview's Scholastic Book Fair
Monday, May 11- Sunday, May 24
Please check out Fairview's Online Scholastic Book Fair!
https://www.scholastic.com/bf/fairviewelementaryschool46
The Fairview library will earn 25% of each purchase in Scholastic Dollars. With that, the library will be able to purchase books, student resources, supplies, and the much loved bookmarks that are given out at checkout. Thank you for supporting our library. Please contact Ellen Valentine elvalentine@fcps.edu with any questions.
Library Book Return in Progress
Fairview Library books can be returned on Tuesday through Friday at Entrance One (the main entrance) between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM. There will be several carts available to collect returned books.
Please note that items belonging to a particular teacher will be collected during our June curbside pickup.
The Fairview Staff will be hard at work over the next few weeks packing up classrooms and identifiable student items from the school year. They will collect and bag up all items from student desks, classroom cubbies, etc,. Please understand that during this process, some unmarked items may not be able to be identified as belonging to a particular student.
Details about our June curbside pickup will be shared in the near future.
We will also have a spot identified where students can return items that they have borrowed from school and or their teacher (books-classroom or library, patrol belts, etc.). We will not be collecting laptops or instruments during this time. If you have borrowed a laptop or rented an instrument from the school, there will be a separate return process for these items.
If you do not wish to retrieve your child’s classroom belongings at all, please fill out the following form to let us know. Please note that by filling out this form, your student’s items will not be bagged or available for pick-up. School supplies may be donated or saved for future use.

Many children have difficulty staying motivated, especially with warm weather coming. Setting goals can help. Try making meeting goals fun using something like bingo to encourage children to complete school tasks and chores. This website lets you create bingo cards that you can print or use to play online.

Digital Citizenship Reminders
As we enter a distance learning environment, it becomes more important than ever to apply practices of good digital citizenship. Students have been learning digital citizenship at Fairview all year, but reminders are always helpful. We strongly encourage adults to actively monitor students' use of technology to help maintain a safe and productive digital community. Resources to families can be found on the FCPS Digital Citizenship webpage.
