Student Pack Up Information

teacher

Dear Cameron Families,

Principals have received some guidance on how our schools may proceed with the packing up of classrooms, to include student belongings. We have ordered large paper bags and labels for teachers to place students’ personal belongings in, such as school supplies, their jacket, personal books, etc. Teachers will be packing student items as they clean their classroom over the next 3 Fridays.

We have two scheduled days for student pick up in the Kiss & Ride Loop. June 5th and June 12th are the designated days for student pick up. The times are between 9am-4pm. Your child’s teacher or office assistant will work with you to select a window of time. If you have multiple children you will be able to get all belongings in one trip.

Parents or students will not leave their vehicles to retrieve their items, as we will utilize the kiss and ride. Having your family last name written clearly on a paper in the windshield can minimize contact and speed up the process.  We appreciate your patience as we start this process. If you would like your students items donated, reused or recycled instead of picking them up, please let your child’s teacher know.

Until we see you for item pick up days, please continue to join our staff on-line. They are so happy to see your children and engage them in learning! As a Cameron community we will continue to honor our commitment to you and your children.

Thank you,

Mr. Johnson & Mrs. Tkach

Spring Pictures Delayed

Unfortunately, the spring portraits packages were not delivered to us. The photography company remains closed as well as our school’s office; therefore, spring portrait packages will not be included in the bags.  The portrait company is closed and  it makes it impossible for them to mail the portrait packages at this time.  We will let our families know as soon as we have their portrait packages delivered to Cameron and also as soon as we are advised by FCPS leadership team to let our families come to Cameron to pick up the spring portraits and yearbooks.

Digital Citizenship

Supporting Your Child with Digital Citizenship

Digital Citizenship can be described as the norms of appropriate, responsible behavior (and its positive and negative impact on self and others) with regard to technology use. All FCPS students are learning to become safe, ethical, and responsible digital citizens. FCPS recognizes that schools and families both play a role in helping children develop the skills and behaviors needed to make positive contributions to the online community.

As we move to distance learning, families and caregivers will play a critical role in modeling expected behaviors, and mentoring their children as they use technology to learn with others online. Children may test limits in new online learning spaces. Some children may have difficulty with self-regulation and this is a normal part of child development. Children may need support from families caregivers and their teachers.

To help, FCPS has many resources to support family learning and conversations, which can be found on the Digital Citizenship for Families web page
