Glasgow Community:

I hope that you were able to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather on Saturday. Our family took our weekly hiking trip. We completed the Appalachian Trail in Maryland this weekend and have almost completed the BSA hiking merit badge. Although it is not always easy, I try my best each weekend to step away and refresh.

Each week I have the pleasure of dropping in on synchronous lessons throughout different content areas. I am impressed how quickly our students have adapted to this format of learning and enjoy seeing them discuss and collaborate online. As we continue in distance learning at Glasgow, we are encouraged to see the high levels of engagement and support happening in both the synchronous and asynchronous learning. We recognize that this time has required all of us - educators, students and families alike- to learn new skills, mindsets and habits. Thank you for your continued partnership in this work. I have great confidence in the knowledge that Glasgow is preparing thoughtfully for what students will need as they transition into the next grade level, and our role will be to provide the support each student needs to be successful in that transition.

Thank you for your continued support. As always, please reach out for questions and feedback.

Distance Learning

Distance Learning will continue throughout FCPS this week. Glasgow students and families will be able to access asynchronous lessons in all content areas through the glasgowms.fcps.edu website or the schedule that was mailed directly to your student three weeks ago.

Here is the link to the FCPS Distance Learning website that will provide you detailed information.

Our Glasgow Website has been updated with many important links for distance learning. In the announcements section, there are two banners that will take you to the Distance Learning Hub and to the Distance Learning Resources section. Students can access their course homepages and asynchronous grids through the Distance Learning Hub and many of your questions can be answered in the Distance Learning Resources section.  In addition, like all FCPS websites, they can be translated into many different languages.

You may see some “feedback” entered into the grade-book already. Each of these assignments are “Not for Grading” and can only have a positive impact on your students final mark.
