Principal's Message

pm

Dear Parents,

Mr. Credle and I want to wish you a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and hope the sunshine and slower pace will be just what we all need! We have some busy events coming up at Oak Hill, so I encourage you to read through the pickup and drop off instructions below. Staff have been getting inside the walls of Oak Hill to begin packing up their rooms. It is very surreal to see a school frozen in time, and I hope we never have to see this again.  I am so proud of our students and how they have been participating in Distance Learning! Thank you for encouraging them to log on and try their best. We know it doesn’t “just happen” without your support!

I hope you are finding ways to take care of yourself.  As parents, we are sometimes the last to acknowledge when we are on empty and need to take a break or be alone in order to refuel. I hope this weekend brings you a few moments to do just that.

Sincerely,

Holly DeVore, Principal

Pickup, Send Off and Dropoff Information

Oak Hill will be holding dates for pick up and drop off of items.  Additionally, we will be hosting a send off for our 6th graders.  Please carefully read the following information before arriving at school.

  • Drivers should enter the bus loop in front of the school.  Oak Hill staff members will be available to assist you.
  • Please make a sign with your child’s first and last name to display when you pull through the bus loop.
  • All of these events will be drive-through in-car only. Please do not walk to the school or send students alone to this event.
  • To promote healthy practices and social distancing, vehicle occupants must remain in their own cars.
  • Please note that you may not pick up or drop off items unless you have completed the Health Questionnaire (click here to complete the questionnaire).

Student Medication Pickup

If your child(ren) had medication in the Health Room, you should have received an email from Mrs. Horne with an assigned time for this Friday, May 22nd.

Congratulations Mrs. Wagner

wag

Congratulations to 4th grade teacher Mrs. Jennifer Wagner!  Mrs. Wagner won the Cox Heroes of Distance Learning award.  There were more than 223 nominations for 156 teachers, and Mrs. Wagner was one of 11 teachers recognized for going above and beyond during distance learning. In addition to the title, she was awarded a $1,000 grant for a virtual classroom makeover.

Mrs. Wagner was selected because of her commitment to her students’ education and well-being.  She was also the most-nominated teacher in the state.  To read more about the 11 Heroes of Distance Learning click here.  Congratulations again Mrs. Wagner!

Student Registration

reg

Schools remain closed to families; however, if you have a rising kindergartener or other new student to register, we would like to do a preliminary registration now.  If you know of any families that would be new to Oak Hill (that have rising kindergarteners or students in grades 1-6), please forward this information to them.  Early registration for next year is important as it ensures that we are appropriately staffed.  To begin the registration process please click here.
