Merrily Meandering Through May!!

Merrily Meandering Through May!!

It is astounding that our Academy seniors have less than two weeks left with us this school year!

Seniors, we would love to 'celebrate your plan'!!  Please be on the lookout for the two-question survey link from your Academy teacher so that you can share advice to underclassmen and/or your favorite Academy memory. Ask your teacher if you did not receive the link.

We will be sharing your responses on the Fairfax Academy social media, website, and within these newsletters as we end this school year. (#celebrateyourplan)

LAST DAY FOR ACADEMY CLASSES:

  • Seniors' last day for Academy is May 26th.
  • Underclassmen's last day is June 5th.
  • All students should speak directly with their Academy teacher regarding the last day to submit assignments for their Academy classes.

Mrs. Chae, our Academy ESOL Support Teacher, snapped a quick picture of her children all giving a 'thumbs up' as they attend virtual classes and complete their distance learning assignments at their family work station.

These three hard workers represent an elementary, a middle, AND a high school within FCPS!!

Shout out to Providence Elementary, Lanier Middle School, and our very own Fairfax High School.

Not only was our beloved dance instructor, Mrs. Barnes featured by FCPS Dance Arts, but our Academy alumna, Moira Ragen was as well!

We are so proud to have them as part of our Academy family!

And, just look how adorable they both were as children and how beautiful they are now. :)

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT!!

Lars Rosen, a Fashion Careers level-2 student and McLean High School senior, was featured by FCPS in their 'Senior Spotlights'.

Lars has excelled in Mrs. Chang's Fashion class, and has always been dedicated to the craft since first entering the program!

When asked about his time at the Academy, he said, "I am so excited to see how all of my fellow designers in Fashion Careers II's collection videos come out! In my time at the Academy, Mrs. Chang has provided us each of us with great support, and I am so proud of all of the hard work we all have put into this, regardless of the circumstances. I can't wait to be able to share the final outcome of everything we have learned over the last two years in Fashion Careers with everyone!"

(Pictured below is Lars, along with the entire Fashion II class, whose virtual 'Fashion In Motion' show will premier the first week of June during our week-long Academy Virtual Showcase.)
