SCMS AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM NEWSLETTER

MAY 13TH, 2020

Hello Mustangs,

The SCMS After School Program has created some Virtual After School Clubs available to students on Blackboard. The Clubs are designed to provide students with activities that they can participate in on their own, as well as, limited “virtual live session” opportunities with SCMS staff members. The link to sign up for virtual Clubs is located below. Space is limited for these sessions. Staff members will invite students to participate based on the Google Form. Staff members will then invite students using Google Meets or Blackboard Collaborate Ultra. See the descriptions of ASP Clubs available on Blackboard. Students, please pay attention to the day and time live sessions are taking place. For questions, please contact Chris Woodby at cwwoodby@fcps.edu.

South County MS After-School @ Home

The FCPS Middle School After-School Program has put together several virtual after-school activities to engage middle school students in the arts, music, STEM, physical fitness, cooking, games, puzzles, literature, and more things students can do at home.

South County students can access these virtual after-school activities by joining the "South County MS After-School @ Home" Google Classroom. They can hold down the control key while hovering over the link (the underlined words just under the picture above) and left click on their mouse.  The classroom code is: qkj7iuo

Once your student has joined the classroom, there are a variety of activities (topics) they can choose from in the "Classwork" tab. We hope your students enjoy this site, and that it helps them actively pursue their interests during this time of social distancing. If you or your student have ideas for other activities, please email SCMS After-School Specialist, Chris Woodby, at cwwoodby@fcps.edu or use the "FCPS MS @ Home Interest Form" located on the classroom home page.

Be Safe! Be Active!  And know that we are here for you and your family!
