Art Competition

NEW DEADLINE!

Submissions must be received by Friday, May 22nd

Each year, Members of Congress hold an Art Competition for students in grades 9 – 12.  This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Congressman Gerry Connolly is hosting a virtual art competition which will allow students to submit their artwork electronically.  We think that this is a great opportunity for our local students to participate.

Please see the below link which will provide information on how to submit your entry. .

Social Worker Spotlight

WANT TO HELP OTHERS DURING THIS CRISIS?

For nine years, the Stuff the Bus food drive has served as a biannual effort to fill the shelves of local nonprofits’ food pantries. Because of the extraordinary events taking place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for food has surged so Stuff the Bus is again stepping up to feed hungry people in Fairfax County. On Saturday, May 16 and Tuesday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Fastran buses will be parked in 21 locations (see the list below) throughout Fairfax County to collect food donations. However, unlike past years, the buses will not be parked in grocery store parking lots. Instead, buses will be parked in less-frequented lots, including all Board of Supervisors’ offices and the Fairfax County Government Center, to allow donors to comply with social distancing recommendations. See list of drop-off sites and suggested items for donation!
