The PTA has planned the following fun activities to show our teachers how much we appreciate them even when we can’t be together in person:
Monday May 4: Start the week off by sending your teacher a video of your child telling a funny joke.
Tuesday May 5: Draw or take a picture of some beautiful flowers, maybe ones you see on a walk, and email them to your teacher.
Wednesday May 6: Take a picture of your child holding a sign with a positive word that reminds them of their teacher.
Thursday May 7: Wear the teacher's favorite color to your virtual class.
Friday May 8: Write your favorite/memory/thing about your teacher, take a picture, and share with your teacher.
FCPS remains committed to continued learning for students in this extraordinary time. Learning Packets are one part of the Distance Learning Plan in recognition that technology access is a challenge for students and families across our division. Weekly packets are one way we ensure that all students and families have consistent access to learning for their grade level and content. Please take advantage of the Learning Packets with the following in mind:
- Packets are a blend of review and new learning.
- The activities in the packet support the learning that teachers are providing for students through distance learning.
- Packets are posted to FCPS 24-7 Learning Blackboard every Friday, April 10 - June 5. Mail schedules will vary but are aimed to reach families by the start of each instructional week, whenever possible.
- Answer Guides are posted to FCPS 24-7 Learning Blackboard with grade-level packets to support families in using packets with their children. Answer Guides are not mailed.
- The enrolling parent may opt-out of receiving a mailed version of their child’s packet. To opt-out, please visit https://bit.ly/3dYqJbA
- Packets will not be collected and graded.
- Teachers may choose to use tasks within the packets as part of their instruction with students.
