Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week

This week is Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week at Ravensworth Elementary. Thank you to our teachers and staff for making Ravensworth such a special place. We appreciate your passion and joy for teaching our learners.  Our celebration may look different due to social distancing this year, but you are welcome to reach out and thank your child(ren)’s teacher(s) via email.

Ravensworth's News Show is back!

Look for the Ravensworth morning news show that will come out each Friday beginning this week. We will be highlighting the Positivity Project for the upcoming week, announcing student birthdays and other special features from our Specialists.  An announcement will be posted on the Specialist Blackboard 24/7 site about how to view the Ravensworth morning news.

Student Placements for 2020-2021

While it is still early to be thinking ahead to next year, we want to give you information about class placements for the 2020-2021 school-year ahead of time.  The staff at Ravensworth Elementary works hard to place students in an optimal learning situation each year.  If you have some information that would help us make those decisions, please send your comments in writing to Mrs. Aspuria by June 1stPlease do not list teacher names.  Rather, describe the classroom academic learning environment in which your child learns best.

Soap for Hope, a Fundraising Campaign

My name is Katherine Halick, and I attended Ravensworth Elementary School. I am currently an eighth grader at Lake Braddock Secondary School. Within the past couple of weeks my science teacher Mr. David Kelly invited his classes to participate in "Soap for Hope," a fundraising campaign to help those who have lost their jobs and need financial help because of the Covid 19 pandemic. My classmates and I have been pitching in by making soap and writing encouraging letters to people who have donated 10 dollars or more to Go Fund Me (Soap for Hope).

Our goal is to raise $15,000. If you would like to donate, see a video, or get more information, visit https://www.gofundme.com/f/27skc-soap-for-hope. If you have suggestions of others in our community (individuals, businesses, media, local government, etc.) who might like to know about our service/fundraising campaign, please feel free to forward this information to them. Or, send me their contact information, and we will follow up.

Thank you for your time and stay safe!

All the best,

Katherine Halick
