The Positivity Project character strength for the first week of May is "Leadership" and the students will learn about the personal qualities of leaders, rather than the practice of leadership. These qualities include the ability to understand others and inspire them toward a common goal, the capacity to mitigate conflict and mold consensus, and the desire to lead other people.#otherpeoplematter |
Next week, May 4-8, marks Teacher Appreciation Week at LAES! The LAES PTA has organized many creative ways to support the week. On Monday, May 4th, draw your teacher a picture or make a poster showing how much you appreciate them. Then visit LAES and attach it to the fence facing the parking lot. A video of the posters/messages will be shared with staff members. Let's thank the LAES staff members for their tireless efforts to continue distance learning.

School social workers, school psychologists and school counselors are available to support every student in our school communities with mental wellness during COVID-19 pandemic. Concern over the new virus can make children and families anxious. While there is uncertainty about the spread of the disease in the US, acknowledging the level of concern in any family member is appropriate. The resources available through the link below will help you help children cope with anxiety by providing accurate prevention information and facts without causing undue alarm. Specials Classes - BBCU links to Specials are located in the Blackboard 24/7 Specials Course folder. Students will log into Blackboard 24/7, click on "Lake Anne Distance Learning Specials," and then click on the "BB Collaborate" button on the menu on the left side. This will bring up all of the BBCU links of the Specials teachers. Please locate your teacher for the day.
