It has been wonderful seeing our students and teachers on our secure BBCU distance learning platform this past week. We appreciate your ongoing support, as we all worked to ‘roll out’ our synchronous, face-to-face learning, in addition to our many asynchronous learning resources and opportunities. We have seen a lot of good learning taking place and smiles on your child’s face as they reconnect with their teachers and friends. Thank you again for your patience and support of our teachers and school, it is much appreciated!
If you have a rising kindergartener or a student who will be new to Forestville in Grades 1-6, we would like to do a preliminary registration now.

As you are probably aware, we scheduled our Kindergarten (K) Orientation here at Forestville on the afternoon of March 31st, however, due to covid-19, we had to postpone the orientation. Even though schools are still closed at this time, we will be hosting a virtual K orientation for our incoming K parents on Friday, May 8th, 2020.
The orientation will give you the opportunity to virtually meet our K team and other Forestville staff members, learn about our K program, see what a day in the life of a kindergartener looks like and provide you with a Q&A session to answer any questions you may have. In order to access the virtual orientation, a link will be sent out to you by email for you to join in the session. Please be on the lookout for that email next week.

Once again, we look forward to welcoming our newest members to the Forestville Elementary family and virtually meeting all of you next week. The third quarter has been extended until Friday, May 1, 2020. Students will work with their teachers to make up third quarter missing/incomplete assignments and complete reassessments by May 1, 2020.
ParentVUE/StudentVUE access will be turned off to allow for teachers to enter grades from Friday, May 1 at 4 p.m. until Saturday, May 9 at 6 a.m. Grades will be available in ParentVUE/StudentVUE on Saturday, May 9.
Report card mailings to all parents/guardians will begin on May 12, 2020.
Special education progress reports will be emailed to parents by May 22, 2020.
P.E., music, art, band and strings classes are available on demand for students to access through Blackboard 24/7. Each week new classes are posted for students to complete over the course of the week.
