FHES Wednesday Update

Wednesday Message

Good evening Freedom Hill families,

We are excited to share that Freedom Hill staff have been given the flexibility to make decisions that we feel will provide strong synchronous (live) learning opportunities for our students. Teacher, parent, and student feedback have all demonstrated that this face-to-face connection is so important at this time!

To ensure that technology approaches are workable, the following grade levels will be piloting live instruction tomorrow (Thursday) with some changes to our delivery:

Kindergarten - 8:30AM - Blackboard Collaborate

5th Grade -  10:00AM - Google Meet through Google Classroom

6th Grade - 9:30AM - Blackboard Collaborate

Families in the grade levels above will receive information on joining these sessions tomorrow. We will receive feedback from these grade levels and make adjustments if needed. Unless there are further complications, we expect all grade levels to resume their previous live schedules on Monday. On Thursday, all students will continue to access the curriculum asynchronously with communication from their teachers. Special education teachers will continue to be in contact with families as Temporary Learning Plans are completed.

We appreciate your partnership and patience!

Administrative Professionals Day

AP

We are so thankful to have the most caring, hardworking, and dedicated front office staff in Fairfax County! For those who spend time in our office, you know this is not an exaggeration, and chances are you have heard from one of these ladies in the last few weeks as they keep up a dizzying pace of family support! With two new administrators in the building this year, we are personally very grateful that they welcomed us with open arms and have been invaluable, positive supports during this year of transition. Thank you so much:
