Your feedback and communication

Hello Shrevewood Community,

We care about your children and we want to make sure that each of our students knows that their teacher cares for their educational well-being. Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we figure out our next steps for distance learning. I have heard from many families and I appreciate your feedback and suggestions to help us make the necessary adjustments to the Shrevewood distance learning plan. I am working in collaboration with our team to make these adjustments happen quickly while FCPS is figuring out the live teaching platforms for us today.

While I am in trainings today and adjusting our plan with other members of our team, our teachers will be reaching out to their students in their homeroom either via Google Meet or by phone to check-in about the Choice Boards for this week, give feedback on assignments, and to say hello. Student relationships and connections are important to us as at Shrevewood and we want to make sure that these opportunities are happening for our students and staff each week.

I want to highlight these three main points:

  • I appreciate you all and thank you for the feedback.
  • At Shrevewood ES, we value relationships and connections with our students.
  • Our teachers will be reaching out to students either via Google Meet or by phone.

In closing, I know this has been a challenging time to say the least. I am confident that as Shrevewood community we will do what is best for our students and families.

Sincerely,

Joshua DeSmyter

Principal
