Distance Learning Updates

Last night, Dr. Brabrand emailed the community with a comprehensive plan on addressing the challenges that have arisen with the current distance learning format. That letter can be found here. Details are as follows:

  • Students will resume asynchronous (independent) assignments today.  Your child's teacher will send a class email today with guidance on learning opportunities for today and then each day this week.
  • Staff will be available to answer questions via email for students needing further assistance.
  • There will be no synchronous instruction on BBCU (Blackboard Collaborate Ultra) this week.
  • Additional learning resources beyond teacher directed learning are available: https://www.fcps.edu/academics/distance-learning/instruction/continuity-learning-resources/elementary-school

We will continue to provide updates regarding next steps beyond this week in the FCPS distance learning plan.  Please know that our teachers and staff have been working and adapting with every change to best teach our students in this new environment. As new plans are identified, the staff will continue to create assignments to engage students in meaningful learning activities.

Please let your children know that we miss them very much and we look forward to seeing them in our virtual classroom again very soon!   We thank you for your trust, your patience, and most of all, for your continued support. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions, or if we can support you and your child in any way.
