Dear Olde Creek Families,
We hope you have enjoyed a wonderful weekend. We are excited for distance learning to resume on Monday morning.
Blackboard has completed the necessary upgrades to the FCPS 24-7 system to bring students back to a safer, more stable online environment. Our administrative team and our staff remain hopeful that the upgrades will be successful and the 24/7 system will be able to accommodate all of our users in FCPS. The directions and a video tutorial on how to access Blackboard Collaborate Ultra are included below.
Our phenomenal Olde Creek staff has also been preparing in the event that Blackboard is unable to provide a reliable operating system on Monday. If students are unable to log-in on Monday morning, you will receive a message from your child’s teacher. This message will include information on how to access new instructional opportunities through a variety of tools which could include: Google Classroom, pre-recorded videos, learning packets, eBooks, email, and other approved digital resources as well as directing students to Channels 21 resources.
As FCPS shared, please ensure that your student has set Chrome as the default browser on the device they will be using for distance learning. Directions can be found on the FCPS website.
We sincerely appreciate your flexibility and understanding during this time. We miss our students and we look forward to resuming distance learning tomorrow morning!

Accessing Blackboard Collaborate Ultra
Students/families will not be using the links that were previously given to them by teachers.

To access the instructional sessions with teachers or the office hours/Bear Time with teachers:
- All students will need to log into their FCPS Blackboard 24/7 account with their student number and their FCPS password. https://fcps.blackboard.com/
- Click on the grade level course.
- Look for the Blackboard Collaborate Ultra (BBCU) tab on the left menu. Click on that tab.
- Students will see the sessions they are enrolled in.
- Click on the session button to join the session. The student’s name will automatically show up. Note: Parents are not able to access this on their Blackboard Parent account.
