Dear Mason Crest Families,
We want to express our appreciation for your overwhelming support this past week as we navigated another aspect of distance learning together. It was amazing seeing our children logged in--ready to learn and connect with their teachers and classmates. We are hopeful that we will be able to continue our "live" teacher-directed sessions on Monday. If we find that Blackboard 24/7 is not operating, our teams will be communicating other instructional opportunities through multiple platforms such as the Mason Crest website, Google Classroom, email, or the Remind App so please stay tuned.
On behalf of the Mason Crest staff, we wanted to thank you for sharing your children with us every day and we are looking forward to continuing to fulfill our mission of higher levels of learning for ALL--we are definitely learning a lot as teachers!

We are currently accepting registration packets for this upcoming school year. If you have a child who will turn five on or before September 30th, they are eligible for kindergarten beginning this Fall. SPIRIT WEEK APRIL 20-24
We hope everyone will join us for our first ever virtual Spirit Week! We are teaming up with the entire Falls Church Pyramid to have some fun at home. Beginning on Monday show your Mason Crest spirit by participating each day. You can post your pictures to Facebook and tag Mason Crest Elementary or on Twitter #wearefc and tag @MasonCrestES. Or, you can simply share them with your child’s teacher! We can't wait to see the Mason Crest spirit!
Monday—be comfortable in your favorite pajamas
Tuesday—dress in a vacation outfit
Wednesday—stay active while you are at home by wearing workout gear
Thursday—dress up like your favorite character from a book, movie, or tv
Friday—Mason Crest spirit wear
SPRING PICTURES
If you ordered spring pictures, you can now call Lifetouch to have your picture packages mailed directly to your home.
- Call 1-800-736-4753: follow messages until you connect with a customer representative.
- Give them your Picture Day Code and they will send them to the home.
- If you do not know your code, give Lifetouch your student’s name along with the school name and they will be able to find your order.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES
We are very grateful to the FCPS Foundation and Title I Office for sending school supplies to all of our students. Hopefully, you have received them at your home by now. The supplies consisted of a notebook, ruler, scissors, sharpened pencils, glue, and colored pencils. They should have arrived in two separate packages. Unfortunately, they cannot be sent to a different address than what we have on file at school, if you happen to be staying elsewhere during this time. We hope these supplies will be useful to your child throughout Distance Learning.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION SITES
Real Food for Kids is partnering with Pizzeria Paradiso to distribute veggie pizzas and fresh fruit on Saturdays and Sundays in two locations in Annandale. These distributions will take place from now until June at 2:30 p.m. each weekend while supplies last. The two locations to get your free pizza are:

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
We are excited to announce that we will be hosting an online Scholastic Book Fair from Monday, April 13-Sunday, April 26. The Book Fair is one of our students' favorite events of the year so we have worked with Scholastic to offer an opportunity for students to order and receive books while at home.
