LBSS Weekly News - 04/2/2020

Stay Strong LBSS

Message from Dr. Smith

This week our staff has focused on reconnecting with all of our Bruins and teachers have been preparing to finish the school year strong. On Tuesday, April 14th, we are excited to kick off the rest of our school year and transition to Continuity of Instruction.

We have created a Distance Learning Playlist for you to view; click on this website: Lake Braddock Secondary School Distance Learning playlist. In this playlist, you will find two videos for students: one from me about Lake Braddock's Distance Learning Plan and one that is titled "Online Learning 101." These videos contain valuable information for you and your students to get ready for the start of Distance Learning on April 14.

One main document you'll want to reference during this time is the Continuation of Instruction Student Support. In this document, you will find the instructional schedule; office hours for teachers; office hours and contact information for counselors, other support staff, and technology support; and contact information for administrators.

Additionally, there have been many resources shared through social media and other avenues with ways to make the best of this time.  The Lake Braddock staff put together this LBSS Tips for Working and Learning from Home resource, which is full of tips and resources for you and your students.

To the Class of 2020, we share Dr. Brabrand’s letter to the Class of 2020. Know that we echo his sentiments and are committed to working with all of you to ensure that your needs are met.

Every week I am always so proud of the ways we continue to see the Lake Braddock community show up to support and encourage one another.  Please reach out to your teachers, counselors, and administrators during this time.  We may not be able to be together physically, but we are here to support you any way that we can.
