News You Choose - Thursday, March 19, 2020 - Principal's Message

Good Morning Wolverine Families!

It has been a week since we have been together and I really do miss you all!  I continue to hope and pray that everyone is doing well, staying healthy, and taking care of one another.

My thoughts are especially with the Class of 2020. I am acutely aware of how difficult this time may be for all of you. At this point, there have been NO cancellations to prom and graduation.

You may have heard from the news that the Virginia State Superintendent is working with the USDOE as well as within the state to support seniors and graduation. We are still waiting for guidance and will certainly provide that information as soon as it is available.

The most updated information will still be on the fcps.edu site.

Just know that I am thinking about you, Class of 2020, I love you all and I am hoping for the best possible outcomes for you.

The food distribution sites have doubled since the beginning of the week.

Academic expectations have not changed at this time.  Students may still access the optional non-graded activities through blackboard.

Again, FCPS is working to determine what the next steps will be regarding 3rd quarter grading and distance learning.  Given the changing landscape of this crisis, FCPS is trying to make the most informed, inclusive decisions for students and those decisions are not easy or speedy.  We are truly in unprecedented times.
