Good Day Wolverines!

One Day At A Time!  Please have self-care while we are all navigating COVID-19.  Again, all is well here at West Potomac. 

For now, we expect that teachers will be here on Monday for planning in the event we close for a longer period of time. I am confident that we will be able to support distance learning as many of the essential components for such work are already being implemented at West Potomac since going 1:1.  We will have more direct information for parents and students on Monday.  In the meantime, I would like to provide you with some housekeeping information.

FCPS FOOD DISTRIBUTION

Fairfax County Public Schools will be providing emergency grab and go lunches at no cost for students at five sites today and Monday, March 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.. 

School-age students are welcome to come to any of the five sites to pick up a lunch during that time period.

Grab and go lunches will be served at the following sites today at 11:30 a.m.:

  • Bailey’s Elementary School, 6111 Knollwood Drive, Falls Church
  • Hutchison Elementary School, 13209 Parcher Avenue, Herndon
  • Hybla Valley Elementary School, 3415 Lockheed Boulevard, Alexandria
  • London Towne Elementary School, 6100 Stone Road, Centreville
  • Burke Center, 9645 Burke Lake Road, Burke

All meals are available at no cost to children 18 years and under. Adult lunches are available for purchase for $2.

Retrieval of Things from School

We are providing access to the building on Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for students to quickly come in and retrieve what they need from their lockers. Security Staff will be available to help.  Please report to the main office.

SAT Testing - Important!

The SAT scheduled for any FCPS location tomorrow, Saturday, March 14, has been cancelled.

Any student who was registered to test will receive information directly from College Board.

Due to the high volume of closures, communication from College Board regarding this cancellation will likely be delayed.
