Schools Closed on March 16th for School Planning Day (Student Holiday)

All FCPS schools will be closed for students on Monday, March 16th, for a school planning day for staff members in order to provide an opportunity for staff to prepare for the possibility of distance learning in the event of a school(s) closure.

We will use this day as a staff training day and all staff will report to work.

All after-school extracurricular activities on March 16, including interscholastic contests and team practices, will proceed as scheduled.  Adult and community education classes will be held and SACC centers will be open. Recreation programs and community use by outside groups not affiliated with FCPS will proceed as scheduled.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates!

Keeping our students, staff and families safe and healthy is our #1 priority.  Here are some ways to protect yourself and your family.

What can you do? The first line of defense is handwashing which is easy, cheap, and effective in preventing the spread of germs. When done correctly, handwashing is the single most effective way to prevent the spread of contagious diseases.

  • Simple steps to practice proper handwashing are:
  1. Wet hands
  2. Lather with soap
  3. Scrub for 20 seconds (Have fun and sing a song)
  4. Rinse
  5. Dry
  • Cover your cough with your arm
  • Stay home when you are sick
