Greetings Saxons,

 

Here’s to another great week in Saxon Country! Thanks to students who participated in this month’s Saxon Service. We wish the best of luck to Saxons who will be participating in the VHSL Track and Field state championship this weekend. A final shout out to all students who participated in winter sports. We are so proud of your effort and hard work. A special acknowledgement is due for our Lady Saxon basketball team who made it to the Liberty District regional semi-finals.

 


Congratulations to Alex Woltman, Caleb Womack , Ryan Roncskevitz, Sebastian Moller Rivera, Pierson Richard White , Liam Noonan, and Christos Kalpaxis who participated in last week’s VHSL State Wrestling Competition.

At the recent Super Regional Forensics tournament, Isabella Wu finished in 3rd place in the Extemporaneous Speaking competition. She now qualifies for the State tournament on Saturday, March 29 in Richmond. Job well done, Isabella!

Thanks to The National English Honor Society and sponsor Ronni Chern for hosting the Poetry Slam. It was a great way for Saxons to connect!

Final Accolades…

 

Today’s Case Day event was an overwhelming success. Thanks to Ms. Cohen, Mr. Henry and Mr. Herzig for their efforts.

 

A Saxon Salute to Violinist Alyssa Kim and Gabriel Krieger who were selected to play with the 2020 All-VA Orchestra.

 

Congratulations to  Langley band students who auditioned into the All-Virginia ensembles this past Saturday at JMU! Cherri Chen and Kevin Phlips got first chair in the entire state on their instruments! Also selected: Justin Bahr, Beth Johnston, Jeffrey Song, Clark Tao Selected as alternates: Muriel Wallach, Amanda Yo

 

Swimmers Robert luebke, Johnny Bradshaw, Darius Truong, and Daevin Oey placed 3rd in the VHSL state championship boys’ 200 Yard Meter Relay. They set a new school record in the event with a time of 1:33.62

 

Robert Luebke, Daevin Oey, and Darius Truong placed 4th in the VHSL state championship boys’ 200 Free Relay. They set a new school record in the event with a time of 1:26.24


Last week, we celebrated Custodian Appreciation Week. We thank our wonderful custodians for keeping our school beautiful.
