Information for ALL

Tuesday, March 3: Staff Development Day - No School for Students
There will be no school for students this coming Tuesday, March 3. Our faculty and staff will be taking part in various classes and activities throughout the day, so school offices will be open intermittently.

Welcoming School Atmosphere Walk-Through: Participants Needed
Lake Braddock Secondary School will be conducting a Welcoming Atmosphere Walk-Through, a process that will help us learn how we are currently helping families and others in our school community to feel comfortable, appreciated, and valued in our school. The Walk-Through will take place on Wednesday April 1, 2020 from 7:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

  • We are inviting you to join other parents, staff members, and community representatives to help us look at different aspects of our school and share their perspective on how welcoming our school is.
  • As a participant in the Walk-Through, you will be asked to offer your perspectives on three aspects of a welcoming atmosphere: School Culture and Physical Environment, Family Engagement Practices and Policies, and Communication. You will take part in a discussion facilitated by staff from FCPS Family and School Partnerships. All you need to do is come ready to share your observations and opinions with the other participants.

We feel your individual experience and interactions with our school will provide us with valuable feedback about how welcoming our school is now and how we can make it even more welcoming for everyone. Your perspective will help us to ensure that our school is a place where all families feel comfortable, valued, and an integral part of our school community.

If you are interested in participating, please respond to Amy Soos, Systems of Support Advisor at amsoos@fcps.edu by no later than Friday, March 13. We will be placing all names in a lottery and select four people to participate. Those who are selected will be notified via phone or email.
