Love is described by P2 as follows: You value close relationships with others and being close to people.  For more information, see the Love, or any other character strength card at https://camelotes.fcps.edu/node/1945.

Lost and Found. Please take a look at this Lost and Found video which was made 2 weeks ago. (It may not include the newest items.) We will be donating items to the Salvation Army on February 14, so please encourage your child to look for lost items before then. (We will not donate found coats at this time—just sweatshirts and other clothing items that have been around a while.)

Parent/Guardian-Principal Coffee. Our next coffee is Friday, February 21 at 8:30am, and it will last about an hour. We will share about school programs, but also provide time for questions and dialogue. School-aged students may be dropped off in the cafeteria at 8:30am.

Yearbook Sales. Yearbooks may be ordered via paper form, or online at https://ybpay.lifetouch.com/Order/SelectJob. The order deadline is April 17. Yearbooks cost $19.  Yearbooks will be distributed in June.

Dragons Share. Many thanks to the families who sign up!  If you would like to help deliver unopened food items, fruit, and milk from our school cafeteria to Food For Others at 2938 Prosperity Drive on Wednesdays/Fridays, please sign up! You may collect items from the refrigerator (anytime) on your assigned day. Food for Others is open from 9:30am-5pm, Monday through Friday. This is a great opportunity to involve children in providing service to the larger community. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040C4EACAD2DA57-dragons

ACCEPTANCE MONTH. This week focused on Anti-Bullying, Spirit Day and tomorrow is a spirit day-Wear Red or Pink to say no to bullying.  We are so excited for a full month focused on continuing to build an inclusive culture at Camelot. There are weekly topics about acceptance, important classroom activities and discussions, and our Walk In My Shoes event on February 21st - where students engage in hands on activities related to living with various disabilities.

For the Walk in My Shoes event on 2/21, we still need volunteers to give time for a half day (9-11:45 or 11:40-3:40) or whole day (9-3:40). Please contact Laura Allen at lallen5@gmail.com or 703-598-4987 to volunteer.

Next week’s focus is on Disability Awareness. Spirit Day next Friday, Feb. 21: Wear a color to support disability awareness. Wear blue/yellow for down syndrome, light blue or silver for dyslexia, royal blue for autism, green for cerebral palsy, gold and silver for deaf/hard of hearing and orange for ADHD.

Restaurant Night at Firehouse Subs: Wednesday February 19 4-8pm. Take a break from cooking in the middle of winter! Volunteer Spotlight: Kate Studeman--Thank you Kate for stepping up to lead the BINGO event last Friday! She did an amazing job of coordinating all the details so everything ran so smoothly. Even with a foot in a boot, she  kept smiling and pushing through to the bitter end when everything was cleaned up. We are grateful for your service to the community Kate!
