Message from the Principal

Langley HS

Greetings Saxons,

As we prepare for the weekend, the rain has finally ended and the sun is again shining in Saxon Country. One of the many things I love about Langley is regardless of the weather, there is always a sense of positivity and joy in the halls of our school. Thank you for helping to make this such a special place for our students, staff and community.

Before we begin this week’s celebration, I have a couple of items to share with you.

Teachers have shared there is ongoing use of cell phones by students during instructional time. To help our kids make different choices, as part of our daily announcements I have reminded students that cell phones may only be used during instructional time with teacher permission. We will continue the daily reminders but students who violate the policy may be assigned to after school detention. Our teachers strive to provide outstanding lessons. In order for students to take full advantage, they must to be engaged in class. I thank you in advance for your support of our learning community.

This week, I have had both a student driver and a parent reach out to me regarding Kiss and Ride protocol. Parents/guardians using Kiss and Ride, please remember the line starts in the far right lane of the parking lot. To maintain student safety, please do not pull into parking spaces to drop off or pick up your student.  I greatly appreciate your adherence with this protocol.

Now that we’ve taken care of housekeeping items, let’s get this week’s Saxon Party started….

February 3-February 7 is National School Counseling week. We recognize and thank our fantastic school counselors for their endless support and dedication to our students. We appreciate the time and effort they put in to getting to know each of our students by name and need.

Thank you to our amazing PTSA for the superb staff luncheon held today. This definitely was a wonderful way to kick of the weekend in Saxon Country. The ongoing support of our parents is so appreciated.

Congratulations to our Model UN on earning First Place Best Large Delegation at Ivy League Model United Nations Conference held at the University of Pennsylvania.
