Message from the Principal

Langley HS

Greetings Saxons,

The first half of the school year has been an amazing one in Saxon Country. Our field hockey team won their first VHSL state title. Our golf team won its fourth straight VHSL state title. The swim and dive team remains undefeated in the current season. Model UN and Science Olympiad continue to have exceptionally strong showings in their competitions. Congratulations to these students as well as the many more who are finding ways to Connect and Celebrate through participation in school activities. I encourage each of our students to find their niche at Langley through involvement in Saxon Service, clubs, sports, and the arts.

As you are aware, we recently played McLean High School in a double-header basketball game. I commend, and thank, our students for the positive behavior displayed during the event. Their actions exemplified all that makes Langley such a great school! Not only did we cheer with class but we won with class as well. Congratulations to both of our basketball teams as they dominated the court in both contests.

With our students being so busy, there are many highlights in this week’s message. Congratulations to our Scholastic Bowl team for their impressive win on It’s Academic which recently aired. They will compete in the show’s semi-final round on February 8. We wish them luck! The Langley Forensics team earned Second Place in the Regional Forensics tournament. We are proud of the club participants and cheer for them as they move on to the next round of competition.

Hats off to our Model UN for their Best Large Team Delegation award earned at the Chantilly Model UN

conference. This is the equivalent to First Place!
