Perseverance/School Psychologists

Dear Marshall Road Families,

Next week we will learn about perseverance. We will teach the students that perseverance is when you complete what you start despite obstacles. You never give up. Perseverance is a characteristic that identifies an individual’s ability to spend long periods of time devoted to a single goal or set of goals. Those who persevere are able to set goals for themselves and then take active steps toward those goals.

“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”

-Martin Luther King Jr.

Did you know that there is a School Psychologist assigned to EVERY school in FCPS?  Marshall Road is fortunate to have two psychologists, Sarah Akers and Dr. Cara Gottheim.  FCPS School Psychologists are working hard to make a positive impact on the academic and social-emotional development of all FCPS students through the provision of mental health services that build resiliency, life competencies and good citizenship. Please follow them on Twitter @FCPSpsychs to find out more about how they impact students’ lives every day!

WJLA-TV (ABC 7) plans to air our Kindness PBL tonight at 5:45 pm.  Fingers crossed that our Roadrunner make the news tonight!

Enjoy your long weekend.
