District X Honors Orchestra
Congratulations to Ryan Berestecki, Willie Henry, David Kim, and Thien Phan for being selected for the District X Honors Orchestra! These students represented Poe at the district performance this weekend at South County HS. Way to go!

District X Honors Band
Congratulations to Gabriela Garcia-Trejo, Shane Gomez, Vince Le, Kadiel Rojas, and Mathias Chacon-Perez (alternate) for being selected for the District X Honors Band! These students will represent Poe at the district performance on February 1st at Hayfield SS. Well done!

With the winter season approaching, please make sure you are aware of delays, closings, and early releases. FCPS provides information about closing and delays in many ways including:

PTSA Meeting
Our next PTSA (Parent, Teacher, and Student Association) meeting will be on Thursday, January 16th at 6:00pm! Transportation, dinner, and childcare will be provided. In addition, students who participate in the After-School Program that afternoon can stay at Poe from the 4:45pm after-school dismissal until the meeting if their families will be attending.
A school bus will be passing through several of our communities to pick up and drop off families. The bus route will be as follows:
Stop 1) Eastmoreland Rd & Whitney St (Parliaments) - Departs at 5:30pm
Stop 2) McWhorter Pl & Carmelo Dr (Wedgewood)
Stop 3) Patriot Dr & Nathan Hale Dr (Vistas)
Stop 4) Braddock Elementary School
Stop 5) Poe Middle School - Arrives at 5:50pm

After-School Program
Congratulations to the Poe Improv Team for winning 1st place at the January FCPS Theatre Sports competition! Our team competed against middle schools from across Fairfax County on Friday at Lake Braddock SS and came home with the top prize! Great job!

Raven's Nest
As the days get colder, don’t forget that The Raven’s Nest is stocked with coats and warm clothes for students and family members. Please visit on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 12:15 to 3:15. Students may visit at any time throughout the school day. For more information, please contact Patricia Ramirez, Parent Liaison at 703-813-3801.
