Congratulations, Mrs. Terri Lynn Damon!!
Please join the Fairhill Staff in congratulating Mrs. Damon, our most wonderful Administrative Assistant, on her promotion. This Friday will be Mrs. Damon's last day at Fairhill and we wish her continued success as she moves on in her career.
Although Mrs. Damon won't be too far from us (just down the road at Willow Oaks) she will no longer be a smiling resource for our families and staff here at Fairhill.
Please feel free to stop by during her last few days at Fairhill to wish her your congratulations. She will be missed immensely!!
Famous 3rd Graders
Third Grade students recently completed a Project Based Learning Unit with the driving question of: How can you as a conservationist educate your peers about protecting endangered species? The project included learning and research around endangered animals and environments, creating a digital infographic to inform others, and discussion with author Chelsea Clinton about these topics and her books.
Please take a look at the feature on our website to see all the videos of this awesome experience.
FCPS Safe Routes

FCPS Safe Routes to School will be applying for another VDOT Safe Routes to School grant at the end of February. Your opinion matters and helps to ensure that grant funds are made available to FCPS.
Part of the application requires parent input. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey.

SAVE THE TURTLES!
Let’s reduce the use of straws in our cafeteria in order to help save the turtles and other ocean/animal life. Our hope is to start the week of January 20 where we will no longer have straws out for the taking. The cafeteria will have straws in the line but they will not put them out with the utensils. If any student asks for a straw the cafeteria employees will give them one.
As a school we are super excited about this endeavor. Please let us know if you have questions or concerns.

Save the Date: Career Fair will be March 30th
Save the date for our second annual Career Fair on March 30, 2020! The purpose of Career Day is to expose students to a variety of careers in order to jumpstart their thinking about the future. By preparing early, students will be more likely to be college and career ready after high school graduation. Students in grades 2-6 will participate in Career Day.
However, we can’t do it without you! Please be thinking about how you can support Career Day! More information on this flyer or see today's Tuesday Folder.
