GPS Bracelets/Devices

A parent or guardian who wishes for their child to wear a bracelet or device with GPS capabilities, such as an AngelSense, to school must now request principal approval for the device. Parents or guardians should utilize the new Request for Principal's Approval For Student Use Of GPS Bracelet/Device (SS/SE-349), located on the internet and intranet. If the device also includes communication features, parents must agree to disable these features during the school day and, if applicable, while on the school bus. After receiving the request, principals should complete the bottom portion of the form, file it in the student’s scholastic record, and provide a copy of the completed form to the parent or guardian. A new request needs to be completed before each school year begins.

Getting Ready for 2020-2021:

Carson Student Services is excited to begin meeting with your students to register them for next year’s courses!

2020-2021 Course Registration for Rising 9th Graders -  This past week high school counselors met with our 8th graders to discuss topics such as diploma options, elective courses, and differences between general education and honors classes. Starting this week, Carson counselors will be meeting with students during science classes for academic advising and reviewing course selections. After meeting with their counselor, 8th graders will be bringing home the course selection sheet.

2020-2021 Course Registration for Rising 8th Graders – Carson’s 7th graders learned about choosing their courses in Panther Time on Friday, January 10. This week counselors will start meeting with 7th graders for academic advising and reviewing course selections.  After meeting with their counselor, 7th graders will be bringing home the course selection sheet.

New for this year, all students are now able to enter their course selections on their own through SIS StudentVue prior to meeting with counselors. Parents will also be able to view their student’s course selections in ParentVUE when they are entered.

NOTE: We will be finalizing schedules and placements throughout the late spring and summer months. If you have any questions please contact your child’s school counselor.

8th Grade Parents: Volunteer to Chaperone for the Finance Park Field Trip through VolunteerHub Parent Access:

We are in need of volunteers to help facilitate the 8th grade field trips to Finance Park.  This is an amazing opportunity for our students and we need your help. This is not your typical field trip.  You arrive at the facility (Frost MS) at 7:45AM, one hour ahead of the students to receive training.  Once the kids arrive, you are stationed in a storefront to facilitate the decision making with them. Your volunteer commitment ends at 1:00PM.

This is a real life simulation where the kids "play an adult" for the day. They are given a salary and a credit score and create a monthly budget.  They move throughout the park paying bills and making economic decisions!  It is a wonderful experience for them and for the parent volunteers!

We need volunteers the following date:

  • January 22, 2020 Dolphins Team

If you are available to help with your student's team, please complete the Volunteer Hub below:
