Advanced Academic Program Level IV Referral Deadline – January 9, 2020

This is a friendly reminder that the deadline for referring students in Grades 2-7 for AAP full-time Level IV consideration is due no later than January 9, 2020.  Parents are welcome to submit early, but no late referrals will be accepted.  We advise parents not to wait for pending abilities test scores if they would like their student screened. While the Grade 2 screening pool casts a starting point for screening some students, test scores are only one factor in the eligibility decision. If you would like more information about Level IV AAP services or the screening process for Level IV, there are two parent presentations available on the AAP public website  that have the same information that was shared at our local school information meetings. The Level IV Referral Form and Parent Questionnaire can be also be found on the AAP public website. Referrals can be submitted to the Advanced Academic Resource Teacher, Jennifer Redford, at any time up through January 9.  Referrals can be dropped off at the front office by 4 PM (Attn: Jennifer Redford) or sent via email (jaredford@fcps.edu).

Positivity Project - Week of January 13th

This week’s character strength is Prudence. This means that you plan for the future and achieve your goals by making careful everyday choices. Prudence is the ability to do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reason. It's a future-oriented way of thinking that helps a person set goals, make plans, and have the discipline to accomplish them. It is cognitive – more a strength of the head than of the heart.

This Upcoming Week's Character Strength:     Prudence

Next Week's Positivity Project Focus:     Perseverance
