Items may be dropped off through December 20. Thank you for supporting our Veterans!

Library News

Did you know that our students will have 17 days in which they’re not in school as we have our Winter Break?  Before you panic, hear this suggestion:  Make sure your child has several library books on hand to read when you need a break from them or when they need a break from screens.  Remember when the kids were in elementary school and they had the assignment to read for 20 minutes each evening?  Imagine how much reading could get done if your child read just for a minimum of 20 minutes for those 17 school days!  Are you up for the challenge?  We’d love to recommend good books to anyone who comes in to borrow some before the break.

As always, we’d like for our students to return their items on time so that others waiting for them can have access.  If you happen to notice a library book in your child’s room that has gathered a layer of dust, please check the due date stamped in the back and encourage them to return any that are overdue.

As you look ahead to the Winter Break, please remember to get a book to read or to borrow the electronic and / or audiobooks available by logging in to “Irving Middle School” and using their network ID and password on mackinvia.com

Parking for Pick Up After School

If you are picking up your child after the 2nd after school block (4:35 pm), please do not wait in the bus loop or along the curb in front of the school.  We need this space for the late buses when they arrive to pick up students.  For kiss-and-ride after 4:30 pm, please use the normal kiss-and-ride lane.

Please contact the After School Program Specialist, Emily Geary (emgeary@fcps.edu) with questions about the after school program.

Lost & Found

Irving’s Lost & Found is on display for all students to check during their lunch period.  At the end of each month, we wash and donate all clothing, lunch boxes, and water bottles.  If your child has lost an item, please advise them to check for it during lunch.  We will make announcements the week leading up to donation day to remind students to claim their belongings.  If you would like to inquire about an item, please email Emily Geary (emgeary@fcps.edu).
