From the Principal's Desk
What a fun week! We invited you to help our staff by donating desserts to give them the gift of time...and you responded! We had over 100 desserts donated allowing every teacher and staff member to select items to take home. Thank you for your generous spirit. Glory Days donated 20 dessert trays that brought smiles to many.
Our staff and students enjoyed Spirit Week this week. We had fun learning and laughing at the same time. The week ended with our custodial team sharing a meal that represented the many diverse cultures we have on staff. We are all looking forward to our next two weeks visiting family, relaxing, and exploring new and familiar areas. May you all have safe holidays full of smiles and great memories.

Winter Break: Office Closed
The main office will be closed during the winter break from Monday, December 23rd through Friday, January 3rd.
Deadline for AAP Level IV Referrals
This is a friendly reminder that the deadline for referring students in Grades 2-7 for AAP full-time Level IV consideration is due no later than January 9, 2020. Parents are encouraged to submit early, but no late referrals will be accepted. We advise parents not to wait for pending abilities test scores if they would like their student screened.
If you would like more information about Level IV AAP services or the screening process for Level IV, there are two parent presentations available on the AAP public website that have important information.
Referrals can be submitted to your counselor, subject line “AAP Referral.”

PTA Updates
PTA Meeting - Thursday, January 16th, 7pm
We hope you will join us for our next general membership meeting on Thursday, January 16th at 7pm! Dr. Phyllis Pajardo, Superintendent of Fairfax City Schools, will be with us to talk more about Fairfax City Schools and the the relationship between the City schools and FCPS. Attending PTA meetings is a great way to meet other parents, hear what's going on at Lanier from administrators and teachers, and learn ways that the PTA supports programming at our school. Light refreshments will be served.

No Fuss Fundraiser
Participate in our No Fuss Fundraiser! We know our families have busy schedules, which is why we won’t ask your student to sell anything to raise money for our school through the PTA. Instead, we are asking each family to consider making a $20 donation on top of their membership dues. 100% of your donation is TAX DEDUCTIBLE and 100% of your contribution goes to support the Lanier Community. **Please note, any amount big or small is welcome and appreciated ($20 is not the required amount)** While on the website joining the PTA, just click "donations" on the left side of your screen.
