From the Principal's Desk

Dear Families,

What a lot of fun it has been to share my Wheel of Fortune experience with the CWES community! I have been giggling at the ranch dressing offerings I have received! I have shared with students that I learned the importance of keeping a positive attitude and perseverance. It is hard to believe that we have only 7 more school days before Winter break! Thanks so much to all of you who sent in delicious contributions to our PTA cookie exchange today. Our strings concerts were a big success and we look forward to band and chorus performances next week. Please encourage your child to visit our lost and found outside the cafeteria – the various hats, gloves, and coats your child may have misplaced will come in handy over the break.

Have a wonderful week!

Diane Leipzig, Dr. L

CWES Drama Club

We are happy to offer a 16-week drama club this year! Students who join will participate in the 1950s style musical comedy production of “Rock Around the Clock” (Book by Tim Kelly, Music and Lyrics by Bill Francoeur). Students will learn how to act, sing, and dance during our rehearsals! Club fees include the price of the show royalties, scripts, music materials, set materials, costume materials, and Drama Club t-shirts.

Have a student who prefers to be off stage, but wants to be a part of the fun? Great! We’ll also teach students how to design set pieces, work with lighting, and change set pieces during the show. If this sounds like your child, have them sign up to be a part of the stage crew.

There are 30 spaces available for Drama club. Students who return this interest form by 12/13/19 will be entered into a lottery. We will notify you via email by 12/20/19 about student enrollment and request payment at this time.

Families who require financial assistance should contact Dr. Leipzig email by 12/13/19 (for confidential support.)

We hope your child will join us for Drama Club this year! We’re excited to bring a family friendly performance to CWES, along with a musical theater education!

Trex Film Recycling Challenge

CWES is trying to build our recycling efforts out to the community.  We are entering a nationwide contest to recycle MORE plastic through the Trex Film Recycling Challenge . These are the everyday items that can be found in your home that usually end up in the trash.  Look in your THT for a refrigerator magnet of the list of items so you know what to bring in.  We will have green and white bins in the lobby to place the plastic items in! If we win the contest, the TREX company will build us a bench from the recycled plastic. Thank you for helping the Environmental Team make a greener community!

Here is what the magnet looks like.  If you did not receive one please contact the school.
