Loss Of A Stallion Family Member

Family,

It is with a very heavy heart and deep sadness that I share with you the tragic news that senior class member Dean Spears died Friday night in an automobile accident.  Dean was well liked by all that knew him, and his contagious smile that we have seen so often in the halls and classrooms will be greatly missed.

I have been in contact with Dean’s family to offer our condolences and support. The family has allowed me to share the news of his death with you so that you may be prepared to support your children.

Understanding death, especially the death of a peer, can be a difficult experience.  Should you sense that your child is in need of emotional support, please contact your student’s counselor, psychologist, or social worker.   Beginning tomorrow, our counselors and a crisis response team will be available to meet with any students and staff members who need support in dealing with this sad news.  Our primary focus remains the safety and well-being of our students.

On behalf of all members of the South County High School community,  our deepest condolences are with the Spears family during this difficult time.  If we can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact the school office.

Respectfully,

Gary Morris, Principal
