Atom Pride Times

Note from the Principal

Dear Atom Community,

As the holidays approach and our schedules continue to become filled with places to go and appointments to be fulfilled, we rarely take the opportunity to reflect on the past year, and to begin to look forward to what a new year might bring.  As Annandale looks back at 2019, we have much to celebrate, and many things to look forward to in 2020.  Student achievement has continued to rise; Annandale has once again met state and county accreditation goals. The new year will offer renewed challenges for Annandale and each of our students as we focus on establishing clear academic expectations for every student enrolled.

The holiday season is a time to share, a time to reflect, and a time to spend with those important in our lives. Over the next two weeks I wish the entire Annandale community peace and happiness and hope you find some time to rest and relax.  When we return in January our slate will be full with the end of the second grading period and first semester.  We will begin to discuss the registration process for 2020-21 and explore course offerings for the next school year.  Stay tuned for information on our online registration process for the 2020-21 school year.  Beginning this school year students will be able to register for their courses for the next school year via an online process.  Look for more information in our coming newsletters, and ask your counselors if you have questions.  We will walk each student through the registration process as it approaches in late February.  Stay tuned!

So, from my family to yours, I wish you the best for a wonderful holiday season.

Mark Merrell

Interim Principal, Annandale High School

Academic Advising Season Has Begun

Starting January 2020, students will meet individually with their school counselor to choose their courses for the 2020-21 school year. It is so important that parents and students are informed of their academic options. Families are encouraged to talk with current teachers for their recommendations for next school year. This year, students are able to choose classes via their online SIS StudentVUE accounts on January 6, 2020. Online course requests will be available to students and parents beginning Monday, January 6, 2020 at 6:00am and the closing date is Friday, March 13, 2020 at 11:59pm.  After students choose their courses via their accounts they will meet with their counselor to confirm the selections. Parents can always view the course selections via their SIS ParentVUE account.  For more information on SIS StudentVUE accounts:   Click Here or ParentVUE accounts:  Click Here

There are numerous ways to stay informed about course selections and graduation requirements which include:
