PTSA Meeting

Our next PTSA (Parent, Teacher, and Student Association) meeting will be on Thursday, December 5^th at 6:00pm! Transportation, dinner, and childcare will be provided. In addition, students who participate in the After-School Program that afternoon can stay at Poe from the 4:45pm after-school dismissal until the meeting if their families will be attending. 

A school bus will be passing through several of our communities to pick up and drop off families.  The bus route will be as follows:

Stop 1) Eastmoreland Rd & Whitney St (Parliaments) - Departs at 5:30pm

Stop 2) McWhorter Pl & Carmelo Dr (Wedgewood)

Stop 3) Patriot Dr & Nathan Hale Dr (Vistas)

Stop 4) Braddock Elementary School

Stop 5) Poe Middle School - Arrives at 5:50pm

After-School Program

The After-School Program and National Junior Honor Society will be hosting a Winter Dance during the 2^nd block of the ASP on Thursday, December 12^th!  Tickets will be sold for $5.00 before school and in lunches on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday the week of the dance.  On December 12^th, the 1^st block of after-school will run the same as usual with all of the normal activity offerings. The only activity for 2^nd block that day will be the dance. Any student who is not attending the dance must be picked up by 3:15pm that afternoon.

Winter Concerts

Our winter concert season is almost here! Bring the family to enjoy performances by our Poe students on the following evenings:

Wednesday, December 11^th at 7pm – Orchestra Concert

Monday, December 16^th at 7pm – Chorus Concert

Tuesday, December 17^th at 7pm – Band Concert

Wednesday, December 18^th at 7pm – Band Concert

Book Fair

Poe Middle School is having a Book Fair from December 9^th-19^th! The Book Fair is a great opportunity to give the gift of books for the holidays! This year, parents can take advantage of the e-wallet option to shop at the Book Fair. The e-wallet is a free digital payment option for students. Check out the e-wallet commercial for parents. Also, we are in need of volunteers for the Book Fair. District X Honors Orchestra

Congratulations to Ryan Berestecki, Willie Henry, David Kim, and Thien Phan for being selected for the District X Honors Orchestra! These students will represent Poe at the district performance on January 11^th. Way to go!
