As we wrap up the month of November, we wanted to share how thankful we are for our Fort Hunt families and staff.
Next week is a short week (only 2 days!) so there won’t be a Fort Hunt Weekly News email. We wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving.
Enjoy the break and we’ll see you back here on Monday, December 2nd.

On Tuesday, first and fourth grade Fort Hunt Foxes got to take an on-campus field trip as our soccer field was transformed into Camp Flintlock.
Students engaged in Colonial Era games and activities while learning about life during that time and experiencing some of the materials and tools used by settlers and Native Americans. Students were able to learn to make block prints and write with a quill and ink. They played Rounders (a baseball like game), tug of war and other Colonial games. Our FHES fourth grade Foxes learned the skill it takes to throw a mouse hawk (small tomahawk) while first graders learned to make rag dolls. All the students got the chance to tie different types of knots and make beaded necklaces.
Our PTA helped to bring this program to Fort Hunt and we had a large number of volunteers who helped to make this possible!
