Our Challenge
Fairfax County Public Schools is the 10th largest school system in the country, with over 189,000 students. Twenty-eight percent (28%) of these students are economically disadvantaged and qualify for free or reduced meals. That totals 54,000 kids - more than the total student population in DC Public Schools. In addition, nearly 2,400 of these students are also homeless.
We know you care deeply about all FCPS students. Your gift to the Foundation helps us support them in ways that make the most impact and provide them with the tools they need to find a path for life-long success.
How the Foundation Helps
We work in partnership with the entire FCPS system and our community to create pathways to long-term success for all students. Your end-of-year gift will help the Foundation fund these programs and more:
- Teacher grants to fund work-based learning opportunities for students
- Retention and recognition programs for teachers, staff and administrators
- Gap needs for disadvantaged students, e.g. backpacks, supplies, gift cards
Why Give Directly to the Foundation?
