Atom Pride Times

Note from the Principal

Dear Atom Community,

Our Atoms have returned from the Thanksgiving Break excited to start the Annandale Winter Sports Season, and our musical groups are busy preparing for holiday concerts.  We want to invite our community to the many activities taking place at Annandale during the month of December, and we think we can offer something that every family member can enjoy.  The activities office prepares and distributes a weekly calendar of all school activities and we invite you to visit the Annandale webpage to signup for the weekly calendar.

Additionally, please follow us on Twitter at the refreshed @AnnandaleAtoms Twitter site and on Instagram at the_ablast.  Get all the news about what’s going on at Annandale on these sites.  We will continue to explore additional avenues and opportunities to get the news out to the community and hope that our updated Twitter account makes it easier to follow us.

Finally, December is  the month where we begin to experience the possibility of inclement weather and I want to encourage you to check the FCPS Website whenever we have the threat of inclement weather.  As a reminder,  when school is delayed, please plan ahead and give yourself an extra 10 or 15 minutes to get to school as roads and sidewalks can be slick and traffic will move slowly.  Staff will do their best to keep roads, parking lots, and sidewalks clear on school grounds but we have no control over the surrounding neighborhoods.

We look forward to seeing you at the many activities coming up at Annandale.

Best,

Mark A. Merrell

Interim Principal, Annandale High School
